How to get help in an emergency
When to seek urgent help vs. counselling
If you're experiencing a mental health crisis or are considering suicide or self-harm, please use the emergency resources below. They are free, confidential, and most are available 24/7.
Regular counselling sessions can provide ongoing support with anxiety, depression, trauma, and life challenges, but are not suitable if you are in immediate danger. If you're unsure whether you need crisis support or counselling, please contact your GP or call 111 for advice.

Crisis support
NHS
Call 999 or go to A&E if your life or someone else's is at risk.
Call 111 to speak to a trained mental health professional over the phone.
Speak to your GP.
See the NHS website for more information.
SAMARITANS
Call 116 123 to talk to Samaritans.
Email jo@samaritans.org for a response within 24 hours.
SHOUT
Text "SHOUT" to 85258 to contact the Shout Crisis Text Line, or text "YM" if you're under 19.
STAYING SAFE
The Staying Safe website provides information on how to make a safety plan.
MIND
Mind also provides information on coping and planning for a mental health crisis.
Once you are no longer at immediate risk and you are feeling safer and ready to address underlying issues, counselling can help you understand what led to the crisis and develop coping strategies. Please contact me to discuss how ongoing therapy might support your recovery.
